Most of our ships carry their own fleet of Zodiacs—the swift, stable, inflatable landing crafts developed by Jacques Cousteau. These safe, durable rubber boats afford us the opportunity to explore many otherwise inaccessible locations—beaches, coves, shallow river banks, rocky outcrops, coral reef flats, ice floes-in other words, anywhere nature or curiosity dictates. They are also useful in more conventional landings at docks, seawalls, and jetties.

In addition to Zodiacs, a few of our vessels also have a shore excursion boat, providing another means by which to go ashore. The Clipper Odyssey has a glass-bottom boat, offering the option of staying dry while viewing underwater wonders. The Oceanic Discoverer has a specially designed, powerful aluminum excursion boat called the Xplorer that can carry all passengers to shore at once.
